Cantilever Console
Cantilever Console
*FEATURED IN DWELL MAGAZINE
Inspired by cantilever bridges, whose light looks belie their hearty functionality, designers Matt and Karen Soorikian created their console. "In the Modern World", April/May 2005 95-5/8
Structurally, this unit is inspired by the ingenuity of the cantilever bridge. It is this idea of incredible lightness amidst such weight that inspired the structure of the cantilever console. The legs are placed in such a way as to achieve equilibrium similar to the cantilever bridge. Even loaded with books, this 8 foot long piece conveys a sense of lightness that defies its storage capacity. The sliding door design allows you the flexibility to showcase or hide the contents inside. The console is available with a solid top or with open slats that allow for light to filter through the translucent glass doors. The unit is available with glass or wood shelves.

TESTIMONIALS
"I am terribly excited about the cantilever console, and I am still bowled over by the beauty of the model you showed at the ICFF. The quality of the work was superb in every way, and it confirmed my decision to approach you in the first place. I give your furniture and booth – “Best in Show” – I walked the entire fair, and didn’t see anything with the bold simplicity and purposeful design of your own work. Good Going."
